International Festival of Art-fencing in Kolomna, 06-07.02.2010

20.12.2009		Ladies and Gentlemen! International art fencing festival "Romance of Middle Ages" will take place in Kolomna, Moscow region, Russian Federation on the 6th and 7th of February 2010. The festival is focused on the art fencing of "Antiquity" (Ancient-Medieval) epoch. Performances in other epochs: "From the XVI Century" (Renaissance-Contemporary) epoch, "Freestyle" (Fantasy/Timeless) epoch participate in a show programme contest. The winners of the festival are awarded with prizes and diplomas. All teams and participants are awarded with diplomas for participation. The festival is held under the auspices of the Russian Federation of Fencing and national Federation of Art Fencing. It is organized by the Moscow Region Unit of FAF; Committee of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kolomna government; Centre of Military History, Sports and Culture "Kolomna Kremlin"; and Centre of Russian Martial Culture "Svyatogor". The schedule of the festival includes: scientific and practical conference on the issues of art fencing development in Russia and abroad; master classes of the leading art fencing masters and teachers; a workshop for art fencing competitions judges devoted to peculiarities of giving points for performances with the use of "heavy" Medieval weapons; art fencing sports competition in the "Ancient" epoch and "Fantasy/Timeless" epoch (performances where "heavy" Medieval weapons are used); a contest of show performances in other art fencing epochs and performances that are not compliant with any epochs and disciplines; contests of photo and video works, stage dress, and stage song. The competitions are judged in accordance with the Russian Federation of Art Fencing competitions rules by the FAF panel of judges. The show programme contest performances are judged by the honorary jury. The organizers of the event present out-of-competition performances. The organizing committee of the International art fencing festival "Romance of Middle Ages" would like to invite you to take part in the festival events. Official invitations, rules, and festival schedule are sent to teams and performers after they submit preliminary applications for participation.
